Gettin ready

So tomorrow morning I wake up at 33oam and head to the airport.

I will be flying out of Richmond's airport and after transferring in Atlanta will arrive in Portland.

I should arrive in Portland, Oregon around 11am west coast time.

From the airport I'll walk two miles down the road (or take a taxi) to Bike Gallery, the shop where I shipped my bike and trailer to 2 weeks ago.

I'll grab my bike at the shop, pick up a few supplies and I'll be heading west 80 miles to get to the pacific ocean where I will really start.

My trip officially starts at Cannon Beach, OR.
From there I will head south along the coast and then east to Idaho to Montana to Wyoming to Colorado to Kansas to Missouri to Illinois to Kentucky to Yorktown, Va.

It's going to be approximately 4,500 miles. I want to try and be finished in 40-50 days. We will see how that goes......

I have a bob trailer which is a one wheel trailer that I will pull behind my bike. It carries everything I have on the pack list in the previous post.

I plan to eat......alot. but ill probably grab a loaf of bread with some Peanut butter and honey or something similar each day while I'm riding. Then at night I hope to find some all you can eat buffet's here and there. I also have a small camping stove Hunter gave me to cook some basic foods. I plan to spend around 1200-1500 on food.... hopefully less.

For sleeping arrangements each day after I finish my ride I will look around and figure out my options. I will be trying not to sleep for free (no hotels, motels, hostels, campsites, etc). I will probably find some fire stations and church's here and there that will let me sleep in em but I'll probably be camping most of the time. I hope to stay with my friend Zack's older brother Brandon in Montana and my friend Eric in Colorado. I also has a couch surfing account so whenever I have internet access I mind try and find a place to stay on this awesome website.

The first night I will be couch surfing. IF my plane arrives on time in Portland and I can make it there by dark.

I have a gps thing my mama gave me all I do is press a button and it sends a little message to let my parents know I'm alright. It also has a I need help button and an Emergency button. Since its gps it works where I don't have service.

My phone will be off 95% of the time since I don't see too many opportunities to charge it. But please feel free to call and leave me a voice mail or text message I would love to talk to everyone once in a while.

I hope I don't run into any trouble (human or animal). Dogs usually just chase you for a little and you can shout out them or spray them with water. Rednecks usually have bad aim and usually fail to hit you with things they throw from their trucks. If I do I have trouble my  large can of bear mace (thanks mike) should help me out. I don't think I'll have to use it but if I do whatever was causing me problems won't be an issue anymore. (the can is a little bit smaller than a 2 liter soda bottle).

My goal is to try and get 100 miles a day. I dunno if I'll still wanna do this after the first couple days but I'm sure I'll cruise through states like kansas to make up for days I fail to make the cut.

I'll be taking plenty of pictures and I hope to upload some here and there when I find a computer. If I do Ill post them on here or facebook.

I'm probably gonna smell.
